Recommended hiking trailsSexten in summer is a genuine hiker’s paradise.Whether you’d prefer to hike down in the valleys, high up in the mountains or to enjoy a round trip, in the Sexten Dolomites the choice is enormous. The mountains around Sexten offer a truly marvellous natural spectacle. The five peaks Neuner (9), Zehner (10), Elfer (11), Zwölfer (12) and Einser (1) make up what is known as the Sexten Sundial. Here are our hiking tips: Fischlein Valley route: the hiking path into the Fischlein Valley is a very beautiful and rewarding walk, which at first mainly leads through forests, meadows and mountain pines. Later, from the end of the valley, a broad path leads to the Talschluss Hut. This route offers unforgettable views of the Sexten Dolomites. Something that the children always enjoy is a horse-drawn carriage ride into the Fischlein Valley. To the Three Peaks: the Three Peaks are the symbol of the Dolomites and a magical attraction for all hikers and climbers. Numerous hiking trails take you there and one of the best goes through the Fischlein Valley in about 3 hours to the Three Peaks Hut at 2,405 metres above sea level. You can then ride back in comfort on the bus from the Auronzo Hut. Along the Karnische Höhenweg: Take the Sexten-Helm cable car to the summit restaurant and begin your hike from there towards the Hahnspiel Hut, continuing to the Sillianer Hut. The trail offers a wonderful panoramic view far into the Puster Valley. From the Sillianer Hut a beautiful path leads to the Klammbach Alp and from there back to Moos. |
